Having regard to the prevalent levels of malpractice in the election, nomination process, and organisation of political parties in Nigeria; having considered the dexterity with which officers and custodians of political parties in Nigeria create havoc among party members and the general populace by completely ignoring basic tenets of public office conduct; having regard to the unwarranted divide among members of political parties in Nigeria, and the ripple effect on our people in general; having regard to the abysmal levels of corruption, self-aggrandisement, and electioneering malpractices enshrined in the systems adopted by existing political parties in Nigeria; being mindful of the effect of this state of affairs on our general well-being as a country; the National Interest Party opts to promote transparency and good governance by being an information technology driven political party operating on the basis of an open democracy.
Having considered the extreme levels of divisiveness, lack of focus, lack of ideology, and particularly the complete lack of interest in the general welfare of the common people of Nigeria promoted by the structures and systems of internal governance adopted by existing political parties in Nigeria, the National Interest Party opts to give each member a voice in the choice of persons who may control the party, and who may emerge contestants under the platform of the Party at all general elections in Nigeria.
Recognising that the lack of progress experienced in the many years of independence in Nigeria is largely due to the poor management structures of our political parties, and the pursuit of individual interests, as against the pursuit of the collective interests of our people.
Recognising also that poor organisation, and poor leadership of political parties automatically translates to poor leadership, organisation and management of the people and resources of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; we at the National Interest Party have chosen to lead by example.
NIP is looking to background check, screen at least 50,000 men and women of undisputed integrity, who possess requisite leadership skills and experience, to bring about real progress and growth when they take over the leadership of the party, and Nigeria. NIP will install leaders who can, and who will earnestly work together to help Nigeria recover from decades of mismanagement of her resources. NIP will help Nigeria end the decades of suffering, and unending disaccord among her people.
NIP is a political party bound solely by common ideologies, so ethnicity, religion, tribe, education, creed etc. are of no value to the members and leaders of the party. NIP is for people whose only interest is to build, maintain, and be a part of a Nigeria which functions for the benefit of all Nigerians – not for the benefit of a select few.
NIP proposes to achieve this by using the powers of the internet in its organisation, coordination of affairs, and communications. The internet will help NIP in the quest to find and bring together the best of Nigeria. In the quest to reach the grassroots in record time at low costs, in the quest to re-orient our younger generations particularly kids in primary, secondary, vocational and tertiary institutions of learning.
We will help our unemployed, and our young professionals who see Nigeria as only capable of offering a bleak future. We will resuscitate the hopes of our parents and grandparents who have resigned to fate; our veterans and pensioners who have given up having lived in penury following dedicated service to our great country.
